Samdrup Jongkhar is the gateway to eastern Bhutan as well as to Assam, India. It is about 9 hours drive from Trashigang. However, there are many beautiful villages, houses, on the way.
Khaling village
As described in songs and stories, Khaling is just like heaven. A day walk to the village just below the road is worth while. The National Institute for the Disabled is located about a kilometer below the road. Also, the handloom development project is not very far. Likewise, there are many other villages on your way that you must explore.
